Girls Night Out helps hundreds of women and girls gain access to services in an attempt to escape domestic exploitation within the city of Chicago and abroad. What started with one woman, her trunk full of hope and determination, has turned into a fully operational not-for-profit organization that supports housing, education, mental health, and more for individuals experiencing sex trafficking along with training and workshops for organizations that want to assist with this mission.

Girls Night Out is dedicated to ending domestic sex trafficking. The organization was created after years of action across the city of Chicago by its founder Dr. Kisha Roberts-Tabb, who first began outreach with Rose of Sharon in 2011 before deciding to expand on the outreach and began her personal fight toward eradicating domestic sex trafficking in 2016. What Girls Night Out, NFP has been able to do over the last 8 years is commendable.

After almost a decade of addressing the outcome, she is now focused on addressing the systematic pathways that lead to the horrific outcomes of sex trafficking. Last year we focused on housing insecurity, and in 2025 we are dedicating our efforts to offering transferrable skills.

Dr. Tabb packed her trunk regularly with love bags that she passed out on the south side of Chicago, often alone.

Dr. Tabb organized a Mother’s Day event for exploited women across the city, which was canceled last minute by the church where it was to be held. Kisha along with her daughters and two friends walked the streets along the west and south sides of Chicago passing out love bags and giving hope to women they encountered.

Dr. Tabb organized Girls Night Out Walk through Roseland, where we took over six tracks in the Roseland neighborhood until Midnight.

Covid did not play a factor. “Girls Night Out” participants picketed 6 motels known for allowing the sexual exploitation of women and children.

“Girls Night Out” participants set across the city to address the issue of food insecurity amongst this already vulnerable group of women and children by passing out bags of food.

2024

The fourth Friday in January was declared “Girls Night Out in Chicago” on that day we took to the streets to offer housing resources , along with HIV testing. The next day we held our first where we raised money to fight housing ensecurities.
