About the event
In honor of the International Day of the Girl Child on October 11, Girls Night Out, NFP will lead a citywide outreach initiative to support and protect girls who are at risk of or currently experiencing human trafficking. This night of action will bring together survivor advocates, community partners, and volunteers to extend hope, resources, and immediate pathways to safety for vulnerable girls in Chicago and surrounding areas.
The initiative will include street-level engagement in neighborhoods where trafficking is most prevalent. Teams of trained volunteers will distribute resource kits containing hotline numbers, shelter contacts, hygiene products, and empowering messages designed to remind girls that they are not alone. Outreach vans will be stationed to provide safe spaces for confidential conversations, medical assistance, and direct transportation to shelters when needed. Survivor leaders and counselors will accompany each team to ensure compassionate, trauma-informed care.
